Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has demolished two hotels in the state allegedly for violating the lockdown rule in the state.
The demolition which took place in the early hours of today Sunday, 10th of May, was personally supervised by his Excellency Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State alongside some government officials.
The affected hotels are Prodest Hotel in Alode and Etemeteh Hotel in Onne – both in Eleme Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
It would be recalled that Governor Wike had earlier issued out a warning to the people of Rivers State after which he directed officials of the Local Government Task Force to identify hotels operating during the lockdown for demolition.
He warned that those who fail to comply with the government’s directives on measures put in place to curb the spread of corona virus in Rivers would face the consequences.
